Research, evaluation, and assessment form the bedrock of educational improvement

At the Johns Hopkins School of Education, we are deeply committed to making a difference in education through rigorous research, evaluation, and assessment practices. Our top faculty members, including those at the Center for Research and Reform in Education, are focusing on uncovering the key drivers of effectiveness in schools today.

Research, evaluation, and assessment are crucial pillars of our work. They allow us to measure the effectiveness of a new curriculum, the power of modern teaching methods, and the safety of our learning environments. By continuing to develop and hone enhanced evaluation and assessment systems, we aim to create more effective, inclusive learning environments where all students can flourish.

PEOPLE OF SOE

Not all educational technologies are created equal. That’s the driving force behind a grant-funded meta analysis of approaches to ed tech in mathematics. Jennifer Morrison, along with co-investigators Stephen Pape and Amanda Neitzel, set out to look specifically at program content versus delivery mechanisms.
