Andrea Ochoa is a PhD candidate at Johns Hopkins School of Education. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked in New Mexico as a district and school site administrator, education policy analyst for the state legislature, and elementary bilingual education teacher. She is interested in identifying policies and practices that lead to improved outcomes for English learners, culturally and linguistically diverse students, and students living in poverty. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education, and a Master of Business Administration in Education Leadership from the University of New Mexico where she was the recipient of an Institute for Citizens & Scholars fellowship.
