Brenda Dorsch received her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Loyola University Maryland, with a focus on Pastoral Counseling. Previously, Brenda was Adjunct Faculty at Loyola University Maryland and Johns Hopkins University’s CMHC program. Her dissertation focused on Transgender Women and Spiritual Resilience, and she continues to be an active advocate for transgender communities. Private practice has been her focus for the last 12 years, specializing in work with LGBTQIA+ communities, particularly gender affirming therapy. Her clinical experience includes almost a decade working with substance use treatment and many years working with children and youth, as well as adults. Brenda’s presentations at regional and national conferences include topics involving LGBTQIA+ issues and spiritual integration in counseling. Brenda is a member of the NBCC, ACA, ACES, ASERVIC, is the President of the Board of SAIGE-MD and is a member of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH). She is an Approved Clinical Supervisor and is on the Board of FreeState Justice.
