For students enrolled in the Post-Master’s Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program beginning in Fall 2024 or Fall 2025, Project EnRICH prepares multilingual scholars to serve children with disabilities from diverse cultural backgrounds with high-intensity needs.

Project EnRICH is part of a federal grant initiative with funding from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs that aims to train scholars to enhance their readiness to serve children with disabilities and high-intensity needs. This grant opportunity is designated for students enrolled in JHU’s Post-Master’s Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis providing tuition support for coursework and supervised fieldwork experiences in culturally and linguistically diverse settings.

Project EnRICH Benefits

Students enrolled in the Post-Master’s Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis may be considered for the Project EnRICH training grant, which offers the following benefits:

Full-Tuition Support

The grant supports full tuition for 15 scholars enrolled in the Post-Master’s Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis, including four practicum courses (electives).

Additional Stipend

The grant also offers additional funds to support additional fees, books, or materials to support coursework and fieldwork experiences.

Additional Academic Support

Advanced Workshops provide scholars with the opportunity to develop effective, equity-centered practice emphasizing culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogies and cultural humility in applied behavior analysis.

Cohort Advising Sessions provide scholars with ongoing support to facilitate acquisition of academic and professional skills.

Mentorship Program matches each scholar with alumni from our ABA program to provide support and grow professional networks beyond graduate school at JHU SOE.

  • 15 Scholars

    The grant supports full-tuition for 15 scholars enrolled in the ABA Post-Master’s Certificate beginning in Fall 2024 or Fall 2025 and offers additional stipends to support professional development and experiences.

  • Program Components

    • Post-Master’s Certificate — Applied Behavior Analysis; graduate-level coursework (7 courses; 21 credits) aligned with the BACB 5th Edition Task List (BACB, 2017).
    • Supervised Fieldwork Experience through the completion of 4 elective practicum courses (12 credits) meeting BCBA Fieldwork Requirements for Concentrated Experience.
    • Supervised fieldwork experience in culturally and linguistically diverse settings.
    • Blended learning program model of instructional delivery, providing the opportunity to join class in-person or virtually.

Program Outcomes

Project EnRICH scholars will:

  • Complete high-quality training in ABA and supervised fieldwork experience meeting requirements for eligibility to apply to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to become a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA).
  • Acquire competencies to serve children with disabilities and high-intensity needs using culturally and linguistically responsive, evidence based practices.
  • Develop leadership skills to improve professional practice, services, and education for children with disabilities high-intensity needs.

Eligibility and Requirements

JHU requires three steps to be officially considered for the Project EnRICH training grant.

  1. Submit and complete an online application for the Post-Master’s Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis for Fall 2024 start term by June 1, 2024.
  2. Students selected for Project EnRICH must demonstrate financial need determined by expected family contribution as part of the FAFSA application. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2024-25.
  3. Complete a Project EnRICH Grant Application.

Tamara Marder, a licensed psychologist and a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA-D), has worked in the field of special education and applied behavior analysis for thirty years. She has extensive experience serving children with disabilities in a variety of settings including hospitals, homes, and schools.
