As a secondary teacher, Tristan Hann, PhD, developed a passion for mathematics education. As part of his PhD studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Education, he focused on the mathematics classroom experiences students, particularly in terms engagement and motivation. Through investigating the ways that student-centered pedagogical practices shape beliefs and attitudes of mathematics and mathematics ability, he hopes to impact future mathematics curriculum and policy.
