Sarah Caroleo is a PhD candidate at Johns Hopkins School of Education. Her primary research interests involve increasing equity and access to advanced learning opportunities in American public schools. In particular, she is curious about how classroom teachers’ training and experiences with giftedness influence their motivation and capacity to support learners with potential. Prior to the program, Sarah served as a K-4 gifted specialist in Nashville, Tennessee, and a first and fourth grade classroom teacher in Los Angeles, California. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education, an endorsement in English Language Learning, and a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology, with an emphasis in Gifted and Creative Education.
