Juan B. Cortes is a PhD candidate whose professional work has focused on research and program evaluation in K-12 school systems. Most recently, Juan worked as Coordinator of Program Evaluation for Baltimore County Public Schools for five years. Prior to that, he was a Data Strategist at Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Juan’s research interests include exploring the relation between policies and practices at the secondary and post-secondary levels and issues of access and support for underprepared students transitioning to college.
