Gavriel Brown is a doctoral graduate from the School of Education at Johns Hopkins University where he researched school leadership and school organization. His projects examined the relationship between principal job satisfaction and leadership turnover. He is also researching how school leaders shape the professional development of teachers. He is the recipient of the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity National Ethics Prize. A former corps member at Teach for America (NJ ’14), Gavriel taught English and journalism in public charter schools and parochial schools in New York City. He has also worked for the New Leaders organization and has consulted for schools in five states. He received his B.A. from the honors program at Yeshiva University and his M.A.T. from Relay Graduate School of Education.
