Every student deserves an educational system that provides the support they need to succeed — in school and in life. The Partnership for Student Success is a coalition of nonprofits, higher education institutions, and school districts working to provide all students with the evidence-based supports they need to succeed.
This work began through a Biden Administration initiative — the National Partnership for Student Success — that supported schools, districts, nonprofits, and higher education institutions nationwide to recruit, train, and support more caring adults in evidence-based roles as tutors, mentors, success coaches, post-secondary transition advisers, and wraparound support coordinators. Starting in January 2025, this work will continue to have a home at the Johns Hopkins University Everyone Graduates Center.

PEOPLE OF SOE
Robert Balfanz
Professor of Education and Co-Director, Partnership for Student Success
“We will be bringing trained, supported, and vetted adults with education and wellness expertise to work side-by-side with principals, teachers, and counselors to get the right support to students.”

Robert Balfanz is a nationally recognized expert in secondary school reform, high school dropouts, early warning systems, chronic absenteeism, school climate, and instructional interventions in America’s schools, with a particular focus on high-poverty schools. His analysis of New York City Public Schools’ work to end absenteeism showed measures significantly improved attendance.
Prepared to Thrive: Partnership for Student Success
America’s students have great potential to learn and thrive in school and in life, but they need caring adults to help them face the educational, attendance, and mental health challenges of our time. When we all work together, we can help them get there. The Partnership is a coalition committed to that vision.
