Tonya Satchell is an Assistant Research Scientist at the Center for Technology in Education. She provides leadership on several early childhood system-based projects designed to improve access to quality child care for all children. Additionally, she serves as a Program Mentor in the EdD program. Prior to joining the School of Education in 2012, Satchell spent more than two decades in early childhood programs teaching, directing, and supporting children and families. She is committed to and passionate about equity, access to quality early learning, early literacy, inclusive practices, and the value of learning through play and exploration. Satchell’s research interests include culturally responsive early childhood systems and interventions that support young children, especially those from marginalized communities.
