Laurie U. deBettencourt, Professor Emeritus, oversaw all JHU SOE master’s programs and certificates within the special education programs for 15 years. She served as the Editor of TESE journal for 10 years. Over her thirty-five plus year career Dr. deBettencourt authored several textbooks and articles related to instruction of students with disabilities. She was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship at the Special Education Institute of Eötvös Loránd University, Atypical Behaviour & Cognition in Budapest, Hungary, during the spring semester of 2018. In the fall of 2022 deBettencourt returned to Budapest as she was awarded a Fulbright Specialist opportunity to assist Faculty and graduate students with their publishing.
