Kelun Lu studies school reputation and parental satisfaction, primarily focusing on using the Natural Language Processing (NLP) and causal inference to analyze millions of online reviews written by parents on social media platforms. He is particularly interested in understanding how the public’s biased perceptions (e.g., stereotypes) about certain schools form and evolve. In particular, Kelun is exploring how information cascade influences parents’ opinions about their schools. His previous projects also focused on Chinese foreign aid in education.
