Emily L. Jones has over 15 years of experience working on the design, delivery, and evaluation of undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and continuing education courses. She frequently consults with institutions that want to use pedagogically-sound technology in their face-to-face and online courses. Emily has spent the last ten years in health science education at the Johns Hopkins University, managing and working closely with the simulation center at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing to develop innovative uses of technology and evaluation in clinical courses. Emily has also partnered with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to develop a mobile system providing feedback on teaching during rounds to senior residents. Her current research examines theory-based simulation debriefing strategies, the effects of observational learning in reflective practice, the use of mobile devices in the evaluation of learning, and educating professionals in critical area domains.
