Isun Malekghassemi is a doctoral student at the Johns Hopkins School of Education. She is interested in researching the impacts of exclusionary discipline on students, families, and school communities, and student experiences once they are removed long-term from comprehensive school settings. Before pursuing her doctoral degree, she was a music educator who served public schools in Massachusetts and Virginia.
