Admission
The School of Education at Johns Hopkins University has a long-standing history of providing innovative academic programs and applied research that have measurably improved the quality of PK-12 education, especially in the most challenged urban schools. Our school has strong partnerships with school systems, other Johns Hopkins schools, national professional organizations, and governmental agencies, and offers a variety of study options to allow for maximum flexibility for completion of programs.
Admission to programs within the School of Education takes into account a variety of factors, including an applicant’s background, experiences, ability, and potential for success . To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have earned a four-year bachelor’s degree (or the equivalent) from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Application requirements vary by program/discipline, but at the minimum require:
- Signed application for admission
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary colleges or universities attended (or an official course by course evaluation for degrees earned outside the United States)
- Essay or personal statement
Each program may also require additional documentation or supplemental information, so please refer to the requirements matrix for program-specific details.
