Hilary is a doctoral student at the JHU School of Education. She completed a BA in Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago, a Master’s in Early Childhood Education at Boston University, and a Certificate of Advanced Educational Specialization in Curriculum and Instruction at Boston College. Hilary was an early childhood teacher for nine years, working in various schools and childcare centers in Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, and New Haven, Connecticut, before returning to Baltimore for her PhD. She is interested in how teachers are trained, particularly in early childhood education, and how teachers perceive and identify advanced learners across different socioeconomic and cultural contexts.
