Keri M. Guilbault, EdD, is an associate professor and director of the Gifted Education graduate programs at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. She has also taken on the role of interim director of the Doctor of Education program, effective August 1, 2024. She teaches courses in the online Doctor of Education program and the master’s and graduate certificate programs in Gifted Education. In addition, she holds a joint appointment at the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) as the principal investigator of the Study of Exceptional Talent (SET) where she leads a longitudinal study of exceptional students.
Dr. Guilbault’s research focuses on academic acceleration, leadership of gifted and advanced academic programs, and the affective development and needs of the highly to profoundly gifted. She currently serves as Co-PI on a Jacob K. Javits grant titled Project PTAL: Professional Transformation for Advanced Learning. Her work has been published in Gifted Child Today, Gifted Child Quarterly, Gifted Education International, High Ability Studies, Journal of Advanced Academics, the Journal for the Education of the Gifted, Roeper Review, and other scholarly journals. Dr. Guilbault is an associate editor of the Journal of Advanced Academics and the Journal of Gifted Education and Creativity and serves on several editorial boards. She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and especially enjoys presenting to local school districts and parent/caregiver groups.
Dr. Guilbault has extensive leadership experience in the field of gifted education at state, national, and international levels and has been recognized for her leadership and service to the field with the 2023 Maryland Department of Education Gifted and Talented Advisory Council State Leadership Award, the 2020 American Mensa National Service Award, and the 2019 National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) Early Leader Award. She served three terms on the NAGC board of directors, most recently as treasurer and is currently serving as a U.S.A. Delegate to the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children. Before her tenure in higher education, she worked as a district supervisor of accelerated learning programs, an instructional coach, a curriculum and technology specialist, a bullying prevention specialist, and an Art, French, and gifted resource teacher.
Dr. Guilbault earned a Bachelor of Arts in studio art with a minor in French from Florida State University, a Master of Arts in gifted education from the University of South Florida, and both an Ed.S. and doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with a specialization in gifted education program administration from the University of Central Florida.
