The School of Education welcomes Hsin-Ya Tang, PhD, as an assistant professor in the Counseling program, beginning July 1, 2021. The addition of this outstanding scholar rounds out a nationwide faculty search to extend the school’s expertise in important areas of counseling research and practice.
Tang is currently an associate professor and clinical coordinator in the CACREP-accredited counseling graduate program at Louisiana State University. She received her bachelor’s and master’s counseling degrees in Taiwan and her PhD from Old Dominion University.
Tang’s research and teaching focus is on qualitative methodology, English language learners, multicultural supervision, career development, youth and adolescents, counseling techniques, ethics and law in counseling, group counseling, and couple and family counseling.
