Rachel Durham, assistant professor and an affiliated faculty member with the Baltimore Education Research Consortium (BERC), has been awarded a Spencer Foundation Small Research Grant for a study to be conducted Oct. 1, 2018 through Sept. 30, 2019.

Durham’s study will focus on explaining graduates’ persistence in college and/or the workforce over the first four years after high school, integrating high school administrative, college enrollment, and workforce data for sequential cohorts of Baltimore City Public Schools graduates.

The Spencer Foundation’s Small Research Grants program supports education research projects, typically field-initiated and with budgets of $50,000 or less, that will contribute to the improvement of education, broadly conceived.
