Effectiveness evaluations are larger-scale, summative studies that focus a program’s success in improving outcomes in rigorous, nonrandomized experimental studies, or randomized controlled trials.
Johns Hopkins Center for Research and Reform in Education research faculty have long experience collaborating with districts and program developers alike in building effectiveness evaluation plans, as well as instruments to conduct classroom observations, surveys, interviews, focus groups, and other measurements.
Conducted with both a treatment and comparison group, these studies may meet What Works Clearinghouse evidence standards without reservations and may be eligible for review for ESSA Tier 1 level of evidence.
