The Ready for Kindergarten Comprehensive Assessment System is a systematically developed framework consisting of a Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) and an Early Learning Assessment (ELA). These tools help predict future learning challenges, assess children across multiple developmental domains, and paint a picture of children’s knowledge, skills, and behaviors.

When educators become a part of the Ready for Kindergarten system, they connect, collaborate, and share experiences with other partners. They become a voice in the future direction of early childhood assessments.

They also have access to data-rich illustrations that can be leveraged to inform practice, policy, and programming decisions while advocating for young children in their state.

Grounded in theory, research, and practice, our system is:

  • Aligned with federal, state, and local guidelines and early learning standards.

  • Universally designed and accessible for children with varying developmental abilities.

  • Linked to state data systems for clear and meaningful reporting and communication.

  • Carefully planned to track growth measurement over time.

The Ready for Kindergarten Comprehensive Assessment System features:

  • A secure, user-friendly technology system that provides tools, solutions, data, reports, and support for administration.

  • An adaptable professional development model using various modalities to promote adult learning and administration fidelity.
