At the Johns Hopkins Center for Technology in Education, we change lives through knowledge that matters.
Our mission is to design, develop, and implement learner-centered, technology-enhanced solutions that address global educational challenges. We strive to create lasting, positive outcomes for every student by driving the systems change needed to ensure equity and opportunity in education.
We design and deliver professional learning programs to equip educators with the skills to provide inclusive, differentiated instruction. We assess and coach educators to make continuous quality improvements in their child care and early education programs. We implement kindergarten readiness and early learning assessments. We provide statewide special education tools such as the online Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and Individualized Education Program (IEP). And we offer team-based solutions in schools and classrooms that support effective program implementation and foster continuous improvement through research, partnerships, and innovation.
The faculty at CTE have research interests that include engineering education, special education, policy development, workforce development, IEP development, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, data security, program scalability, high-performance teaming, educational leadership, educational technology, quality rating and improvement systems, early intervention, and early childhood assessment. Our research utilizes qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method approaches to assess early childhood policies and inform decision-making for educators, children, and families.
We are a diverse team of educators, innovators, software developers, instructional designers, and researchers who are on the ground, working side by side with the education community. With a shared goal of access to opportunity and success for all learners, we are committed to creating positive change in education.
