CSHS Lecture and Discussion Series

The Role of Family Engagement in Promoting Safe & Healthy Schools

presented by Joyce L. Epstein, PhD

Why are programs and practices of school, family, and community partnerships essential for safe and healthy schools?  How can district and school leaders use research-based strategies to engage all families in ways that contribute to school safety and to students’ academic and behavioral success?

Join the Center for Safe and Healthy Schools on November 20, 2019, for a discussion with the renowned Joyce L. Epstein, professor of education and director of the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) at Johns Hopkins University.  Dr. Epstein argues that district leaders and school-based partnership teams are essential for good school organization. She will present new data from districts and schools showing that family and community engagement is part of a comprehensive approach to safe and healthy schools.

A reception will follow.
