This lecture addresses equality and the social determinants of education. Regan A. R. Gurung will discuss the impact of active exercises and engagement on learning.
Regan A. R. Gurung is a social psychologist by training with research encompassing social, health, and pedagogical psychology. Over 100 of his articles have been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has co-authored or co-edited 15 books. He is currently a professor of psychological science, as well as interim executive director for the Center for Teaching and Learning, at Oregon State University. Dr. Gurung is currently investigating ways to diffuse prejudice (including racism and sexism) and to unpack the factors that can increase learning, especially in higher education.
