Amplified Voices Series: Bearing Strange Fruit

Enoch Pratt Free Library is excited to have John Hopkins researcher Richard Lofton PhD and community organizer Mr. Larry Simmons, of the Nobody Asked Me Campaign, in the first of its Amplified Voices series to discuss the state of education in the city as seen through the eyes of its youth and families. After a two-year examination of educational inequities in Baltimore City, Richard Lofton and Mr. Simmons will present the findings of the Bearing Strange Fruit report. Join us for this crucial community roundtable discussion on youth engagement. Focusing on issues impacting Baltimore City’s youth most: employment, racism, violence, transportation inequity and the solutions to combat them. The discussion will include elected officials, city leaders, educational experts, young people and community members.
