Join us online for the Urban Teachers information session. The Urban Teachers program prepares new teachers to succeed through a rigorous clinical training model. The collaboration prepares candidates to improve student outcomes in high-need schools and become highly effective leaders. This event is designed for prospective students to learn more about the program and the application process.
The Johns Hopkins School of Education will host the largest annual gathering of journalists on the education beat in Baltimore, May 6 – 8, 2019. The 72nd annual Education Writers Association National Seminar will explore a host of timely topics of interest to education journalists from across the country, but with a special focus on student success, safety, and well-being. The conference will also showcase the city of Baltimore, which last was home to the event in 1986.
As part of the School of Education’s Schoolhouse Talk Series, LaQuisha Hall will present Starbooks Cafe, a literacy strategy emphasizing student choice in order to engage young readers. Mrs. Hall has used book tastings to engage young readers and to make reading more relevant to scholars. Mrs. Hall will share the strategy with you, current and future educators, in order to help further the development of positive literacy climates in classrooms across Maryland. The Schoolhouse Talk!
