We believe building partnerships across these different constituencies is necessary to advance excellence and equity for all of America\u2019s children. We operate from the understanding that education policy must be informed both by real-world conditions and excellent research; that it is possible to translate the technical vocabularies of research into a language that is accessible and useful to policy experts, principals, teachers, and parents; and that in our richly diverse nation, education must be driven and sustained by evidence about what works and what does not.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What We Do <\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span>To make good on these commitments, IEP creates partnerships among scholars so that they may share expertise and new research on our classrooms\u2019 most pressing challenges. We bring evidence of effective reforms to policymakers in their language \u2014 attuned to political realities and informed by the tough metrics of cost and benefits. We rescue from obscurity important findings about powerful educational interventions and share them with school districts, state legislators, and state departments of education.
