Assessment Alignment and Content Development
\n<\/b><\/h2>\n

Under IADA authority from the U.S. Department of Education, the Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy is partnering with the Louisiana Department of Education to align for-stakes, state assessments with the state\u2019s most commonly used ELA curricula. This innovative model shows great initial promise, and is potentially transferable to other states.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Curriculum Development and Evaluation <\/b><\/h2>\n

IEP works with publishers and districts as they develop new content in English language arts and social studies. We provide ongoing reviews, based on our Knowledge Maps<\/span>\u2122<\/b>, that give real-time information on the quality, coherence, and knowledge building of new units.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Curriculum Equity Audit<\/b><\/h2>\n

Our team works with school system leaders, publishers, and nonprofits, to review the cultural relevance and representation of English language arts and social studies materials. In spring 2023, we completed a review of seminal content identified by UnidosUS as important to the Hispanic\/Latinx American experience.<\/span><\/p>\n
