Mary Pei studies giftedness, talent, and creativity, primarily focusing on East Asia and the United States. She is interested in the identification, measurement, and development of talent across sociocultural contexts and in creative development. Her theoretical linguistics background guides her exploration of the field, and she aims to take an interdisciplinary approach to understanding talent and creativity. She supports open science, and she believes in family and community collaboration to increase equity in talent programming.
