Accreditation is a <strong data-start=\"296\" data-end=\"318\">mark of excellence<\/strong> that benefits children, families, educators, and programs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"379\" data-end=\"448\"><strong data-start=\"379\" data-end=\"448\">Programs pursue Maryland Accreditation using the following tools:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"450\" data-end=\"881\">\n<li data-start=\"450\" data-end=\"534\">\n<p data-start=\"452\" data-end=\"534\"><strong data-start=\"452\" data-end=\"488\">Maryland Accreditation Standards<\/strong> for early childhood and school-age programs<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"607\">\n<p data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"607\"><strong data-start=\"537\" data-end=\"555\">Self-Appraisal<\/strong>, including input from staff and enrolled families<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"679\">\n<p data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"679\"><strong data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"638\">Program Improvement Plan<\/strong> based on areas of need for improvement<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"680\" data-end=\"749\">\n<p data-start=\"682\" data-end=\"749\"><strong data-start=\"682\" data-end=\"716\">Review of program improvements<\/strong> through a Final Self-Appraisal<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"821\">\n<p data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"821\"><strong data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"772\">Optional support<\/strong> through virtual or onsite Technical Assistance<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"822\" data-end=\"881\">\n<p data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"881\"><strong data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"852\">Observation and feedback<\/strong> through a Validation Visit<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"1403\">Accredited programs demonstrate excellence in standards that cover program administration, program operation, and home and community partnerships.
