The Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Counseling is a post-master’s program for counselors specializing in counseling and clinical supervision.
This certificate is ideal for those who need additional credits for licensure, or for those from nontraditional disciplines in which counseling skills are valuable, or for those who seek advanced training in specific counseling modalities such as cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based integrative therapies. The Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) is an advanced 30-credit, post-master’s program with a concentration in counseling and clinical supervision. Students develop individualized specialization guided by faculty advisers. Applicants must have a master’s degree in counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
The CAGS requires an internship and is designed for students who need more than 15 credits to gain licensure and for those from nontraditional disciplines such as bereavement, massage therapy, or other fields in which counseling skills are valuable for career advancement.
