The Assessment Advisory Board is comprised of faculty leads, program directors, key staff, members of the National Advisory Board, members of the community and accrediting agencies. The Assessment Advisory Board is tasked with overseeing the CAS and ensuring an iterative process of improvement of the system, as well as overseeing and ensuring the integrity and quality of the assessment process at the program and unit levels.

The Assessment Advisory Board will ensure that Assessment Office meets its mission of improving the quality and the effectiveness of the school, its impact on the community and ultimately enhancing the student experience and learning outcomes by:

• Reviewing assessment efforts at the school and make recommendations to ensure they result in meaningful and integrated information to support program/service improvement.
• Serve as a resource for institutional assessment efforts in the school.
• Ensure that assessment results are used to support continuous institutional renewal/improvement.
• Monitor the effects of assessment to ensure that assessment results are used in subsequent planning activities.
• Periodically review assessment documents and make recommendations for improvements.
• Review an annual report summarizing the college’s institutional effectiveness assessment efforts. Periodically evaluate the effectiveness and comprehensiveness of our college’s assessment plan and process.

The purpose of the Teaching and Learning Council is to inform all Johns Hopkins School of Education programs by providing meaningful input from the field. This includes insights into how our graduates are performing, challenges faced by educational professionals, and data relevant to the information gathering process for assessment.
