GREATER IMPACT 2017
Leveraging Maximum Impact in School Leadership through Collaborative Practice
On March 16th and 17th, SOE’s Administration & Supervision program partnered with Prince George’s County Public Schools to welcome nearly 150 practitioners, university faculty, and association members to a first-ever national convening around the power of educational leadership partnerships to support collaborative practice in leadership development. Designed to contemplate the impact of demographic and systemic shifts in leadership preparation, Greater Impact 2017 focused on two distinct conversations around the principal pipeline:
1.) How do we elevate partnerships between school districts and institutions of higher education as agents of change to strengthen the principal pipeline?
2.) What lessons can be derived from the partnership process to scale impact across the profession?
In addition to an opening presentation from SOE’s Dr. Annette Anderson, “Taming the Crosswinds of Leadership Change,” Dr. Brenda Turnbull of Policy Studies Associates, Inc. and Dr. Jody Spiro, Director of Education Leadership at the Wallace Foundation, served as keynote speakers for the convening. Guests left anticipating the next Greater Impact forum planned for November 2018. Follow the work of Greater Impact on Twitter @ImpactGreater.
