Teacher Preparation

Teacher Preparation programs prepare educators for success in the classroom through study of research-based strategies together with close faculty mentoring and supervised internship experiences.  

Offering part-time and full-time options, these degrees integrate the content and classroom experience required for certification and for effective teaching. The degrees are designed for recent graduates of bachelor or graduate degree programs with appropriate content backgrounds, as well as mid-career professionals who desire to make a change by becoming a teacher. The programs offered are:

Master of Arts in Teaching – a program leading to initial teacher certification.  Applicants can choose certification in the following areas:

  • Elementary
  • Secondary

Master of Science in Education (Teach For America Partnership) – A program designed for candidates who have been accepted by Teach For America.
