Applicants to the MAT program must submit a resume, an essay, official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, the application fee, passing scores on one of the following tests (Praxis I, SAT, ACT, or GRE), and in most cases, a letter of recommendation. (Please visit the Maryland State Department of Education Website to view the current state requirements.) Since teaching certification is discipline specific, applicants must have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in the content area in which they seek certification.
