Special Education

At Johns Hopkins, specialized graduate degree and certificate programs prepare and support you as you develop the knowledge and skills to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs.

For those starting their careers, Johns Hopkins offers a Master of Science (MS) in Special Education degree leading to certification as a special educator. Participants can choose from three concentrations: early childhood education, mild to moderate disabilities, and severe disabilities.

In addition, there are a number of options available for experienced special educators who wish to enhance their existing skills or develop new areas of specialization. Options include graduate certificate programs and a Doctor of Education degree. Students may wish to refer to the MSDE and PRAXIS sites for additional requirements.
