School of Education Dean David Andrews was recently named to the board of the Y of Central Maryland, one of six appointees for the year. The Y is a charitable organization dedicated to developing the full potential of every individual through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all, according to its website.

Dean Andrews was announced as a new board member along with University of Maryland Director of Athletics Kevin Anderson, Thomas Brandt, Jr. (TeleCommunication Systems, Inc.), Rafael Lopez (Annie E. Casey Foundation), Matt Martin (PNC Bank) and Creig Northrop (Long and Foster Real Estate). There are currently 36 board members at the Y of Central Maryland.
