Faculty Bio
The focus of my professional work has always been education. I have taught secondary English/Language Arts in both public and private schools in urban and suburban school districts. In addition to teaching, I have developed curriculum for school systems, urban university K-12 outreach program, and museums. My work at the university has focused on literacy, teacher preparation, and school-university partnerships in urban settings. Outside of my professional work, I devote my time my three children and their many school, community, and personal projects.

I have worked for seven years as the coordinator of the Dunbar-Hopkins Professional Development School, a partnership that was funded in part by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and the Maryland State Department of Education. I am participating in the 325T Special Education program restructuring grant that becomes effective July 1, 2009.
