SOE Alums recognized in Baltimore Magazine's "40 Under 40" List

Two SOE alums were recognized in Baltimore Magazine's "40 Under 40" List in the October 2013 issue.  Lt. Col. Melissa Hyatt (MS Management '09) was recognized for her dedication and service in law enforcement in the Baltimore area.  Bill Ferguson (MS Education '07) was recognized for his work as a Baltimore City teacher through Teach for America as well as his involvement in the passage of the 21st Century School Facilities Initiative as representative of the 46th District.  Bill also serves as Director of Reform Intiatives at SOE.  Wes Moore, renowned author and speaker at the Spring 2013 SOE Graduation, was also recognized.  Click here to access the entire article. 

 2012 Student & Alumni Career Panel

On November 5, 2012, the Alumni Relations, Student Affairs, and Career Services offices welcomed five distinguished alumni for a panel discussion and intimate conversation over dinner describing their career paths and how SOE impacted their life journey.  Dr. Cheryl Holcomb-McCoy introduced the panel to over 30 enthusiastic students and alumni who responded to the event. The alumni panelists included:

  • Carol Quirk, EdD ’88, Co-Executive Director, Maryland Coalition for Inclusive Education, Member, President’s Committee on People with Intellectual Disabilities
