Alumni Membership

Becoming a member of the JHU Alumni Association helps both you and the school. When you pay your alumni dues, our school receives one-third of the dues. The more alumni who maintain their connection to Hopkins by paying dues, the more we can strengthen and expand student and alumni services and events.

These are just a few of the benefits available to dues-paying members of the JHU Alumni Association:

  • Discount pricing on most alumni events
  • 50% discount on Peabody and tours of Evergreen and Homewood houses; 20% discount on Theatre Hopkins events
  • Hotel and car rental discounts
  • Free e-mail alias of your choice ending in @jhu.edu
  • Access to HopkinsNET, JHU's online community of more than 130,000 alumni
  • Access to Hopkins KnowledgeNET, Alumni Relations' online library
  • 25% discount on all Odyssey noncredit academic programs
  • Admission privileges to Hopkins libraries
  • 25% discount on all books purchased at JHU Press
  • Eligibility for Athletic Center membership and Hopkins Club membership
  • Use of the Athletic Center by out-of-town visiting alumni
  • Up to 10% discount on auto and homeowners insurance on already competitive rates
  • Eligibility to receive a no-annual-fee Johns Hopkins University credit card, which supports JHU student and alumni programs

Membership operates on a yearly basis and on the calendar year. You should receive a letter from the JHU Alumni Office around the first of each year inviting you to be a dues-paying member of the Alumni Association, although you can become a member at any time of the year.

Membership is free for the first six months following graduation (for the first degree). Dues are as follows:


Class of 2006 - Class of 2002: $20

Classes of 2001 and earlier: $40
