Dear Alumni and Friends,

We are elated that the hard work and exceptional talent of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni have propelled us to the #1 ranking of graduate schools of education by U.S. News & World Report. This is a significant accomplishment and I thank all of you for the good work that you do every day.

We've made great strides in our goal to transform the very nature of education and public safety across the nation and across the globe. I am thrilled that our new ranking reflects the quality of our efforts in teaching, research, and the development of evidence-based models of instruction. We will continue our commitment to be part of the innovative solutions to the educational challenges in this country and take a leadership role in the discovery and dissemination of new knowledge affecting education and public safety.

Again, congratulations to all! This top-ranked recognition, combined with the extraordinary educational impact that I have the privilege to observe every day, makes me proud of our school and so very grateful for our faculty, staff, students, alumni and supporters.

David Andrews, Ph.D.
Dean, School of Education
