The Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) is an advanced 30-credit, post-master's program with a concentration in counseling and clinical supervision for counselors who wish to enhance those skills. Students develop individualized programs with specialized concentrations with their adviser's approval.
An applicant is required to have completed a master's degree in counseling or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, submit a detailed resume or curriculum vitae, a statement of personal and career goals, graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation (Note: letters are not required for students currently enrolled in the School of Education's Clinical Community Counseling/Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling master's programs). Eligible applicants will be invited for interviews with the admission committee.
